Principal Engineer — SaaS BtoB Solution

Post-series A start-up offering a BtoB SaaS solution.

Take on the key role of a startup with around twenty employees publishing a complex product with, in particular, high workload challenges and currently in full growth.

Your main functions will be to bring the technological vision of the company to the scale phase, to embody the technical expertise of the company and to ensure the industrialization of developments and to optimize the delivery of the technical team through the implementation of standards, best practices and efficient tools.

Thus, your missions will be to:

• Manage the technical direction of the company:

- codebase architecture,

- good practices in technical development & organization,

- evolution of technologies and frameworks (in particular BDD),

- management of technical debt,

- DevX,

• Develop deep technical product expertise to:

- collaborate with lead teams on a daily basis and provide them with a relevant technical vision,

- transmit it later to future recruits,

• Live manager:

- DevOps (short-term),

- a Data Engineer (medium-term/optional),

• Organize monitoring management (incidents, performance, infrastructure) and the resolution of incidents in production,
• Take part in the company's post-series A recruitments (9 to 10 technical recruitments planned over 12 rolling months).

You have a higher education in computer science at the BAC + 5 level, such as an engineering school or equivalent university.

You have at least 8 years of experience in innovative startups that have experienced a scale-up phase or with software publishers renowned for their operational excellence. Over the course of your career, you have been able to confront different technologies and architectures that have allowed you in particular to address major performance/load challenges. A pragmatic and agnostic profile, you show a real perspective on architecture choices, a solid experience in industrializing developments and ideally proven skills on the Python/JS/Cloud stack.

You know how to evolve on the following technical stack:

• Frontend: VueJS (Pinia, Typescript), transition from Vue2 to Vue3,
• Backend: Python (transition from Flask to FastAPI, Celery),
• Database: MongoDB, SQL, Redis,
• Infrastructure: AWS (ECS, Docker...), RabbitMQ,
• Monitoring & Observability: Datadog, Sentry,
• CI/CD: Github, CircleCI,
• devX: environments on demand,
• Project management: Notion, Linear, Figma.
